My name is Rob Lefief, I am an exhibiting scrap metal sculptor from Caseville, Michigan. My work is primarily influenced by my mechanical engineering studies at CMU, my interest in the outdoors and the need for recycling. The most satisfying aspect of my work is being able to bring new life to metal that is destined for the scrap yard. Whether the pieces I use originated from an old farm implement or an old coke machine, they all have a unique story. Scrappy, my debut sculpture, rose from the scrap pile and evolved into a half scale T-Rex skeleton. My sculpting career is still beginning, but like the scrap I use there is a story just waiting to be told.
